Look of the Week: January Stripes

The best thing about living in Arizona is definitely the weather! I know a lot of people complain and think our summers are WAY too hot. Yeah they are hot but guess what.....almost every other state has horribly cold winters! We just trade the cold for the hot for 4 months and I would choose the heat everytime. I hate the cold I think our winters are even cold {insert laugh here from those of you who live on the east coast} so I could never live anywhere else except California. Let's not even get started on that place seeing as how it's perfect and amazing and everyone would live there if they could! That's where I am from and hopefully one day can maybe retire there!

Geez, that got off track real fast! So back on subject, the look of the week is stripes. I am obsessed with stripes and wear them as much as possible. Since this winter has been surprisingly warm, I am able to wear just about anything I want in January. Flip flops? No problem! Jacket? Don't need one here {unless you want one to make a statement with your outfit}! My love affair with stripes and AZ winters will last a lifetime!

Asher Gets His Hair Cut!

My baby boy is growing up! First a birthday party, now a haircut? Where is the time going? It was a bittersweet moment for this momma, on one hand I was the one cutting his hair so it was really special for me but on the other, it is just one more thing reminding me that Asher is growing up and isn't my little baby anymore. He is turning into a little man right before my eyes and while I love it and all the new things I get to teach him, the time is going by too fast.

Anyhoo, sorry for my random rant. Here is my little angel getting his very first haircut and loving every second of it! I am so blessed to have such a good baby. He was so happy to meet Santa and so happy to get his haircut. From what I have heard those are two things that are normally battles. He loved when I sprayed his hair with the water bottle and kept wanting to play with the comb while I was cutting. I eventually ended up giving him a bright green one and using another one so he didn't want to look up all the time to see what mommy was doing to his head!

Yay I just got to mommies salon and I am ready for my haircut!

Twinners: Patent Pumps

I told you all about my new little series on here called Twinners. I am super excited about my first post! Here is the outfit I liked and wanted to copy in my own special way.

This outfit first caught my eye when I noticed the nude patent pumps she was sporting. I have a pair that are almost identical and I am completely and utterly obsessed with them! Now I didn't have a pink blazer like the one she has so I decided to do a little twist and throw on my super comfy 3/4 sleeve pink top. Then to bring in the tan she had in her scarf, I threw on my long tan vest which I have been dying to wear and this was my first chance! Of course I had to wear a HUGE purse {this is a must in my life unless I am going out at night, then I pack light and grab a fabulous clutch} and who doesn't love a pop of color with a yellow skinny belt? To top off my outfit I added my gold watch which I'm pretty sure is the same one she is wearing in the pic. What do you think of my version?

Hair Products

Since I am a hairstylist, I get asked all the time what hair products I like the best. With so many options out there these days, it seems like a never ending aisle while shopping at your local hair store or salon. When it comes to my hair, I want something that works great but doesn't break the bank. These are my fav products that are reasonably priced and work wonders on my mane! 

This is seriously the most amazing product! It is a leave in conditioner that is light and helps detangle your hair. I spray it on before I comb out my hair after the shower

Once I comb out my hair, I use one pump of this fabulous thickening cream to help give my hair volume and texture. I rub it around my hands then apply it throughout my entire head of hair starting at the ends and going up to the root. It is made by Bed Head and I only use it when I am going to wear my hair curly

I use After Party the same was as Small Talk {above} for the days when I want to wear my hair straight!

I use Root Boost every time I was my hair no matter how I am going to style it. Once my hair is combed out, parted when I want it, and the styling cream is applied {whichever I choose for that day}, I lift up a small layer of hair around my crown on the left, middle, and right and spray.

Once I style my hair, I spray this all over my head to add some extra shine....and the bonus is that is smells absolutely amazing!!!

Then I finish off my look with some hairspray that adds even more shine! Yay and it doesn't dry your hair out whoot whoot!

Here is a hidden gem that I found. It's dry shampoo which is God's gift to the world for anyone who doesn't like to wash their hair that often and especially for blondes! It works with all hair types but if you spray too much in dark hair you can see it a little. I even use it on days when my hair isn't dirty but I have roots showing, I just spray a lot on my part and it makes them look lighter again. Seriously the best invention ever made!!!! Then only thing is that the scent is very strong so use sparingly if you have allergies to different scents. You use this product when you hair is done being styled but before the hairspray. Just hold it a few inches away from your scalp and spray on the dirty parts.

Asher Turns One!

FINALLY! Here are the pictures from Asher's birthday! Yay I am so excited to share this special day with all our family and friends who weren't able to make it. We had so much fun and tons of little ones running around. There were about 12 kids I think in total with parents and each side of our families, let's just say it was a BIG celebration! There was laughing, toys, and food galore but the best thing was seeing how many people wanted to show their love for my bundle of joy. Find some other pics from Asher's party here!
