Our Hawaii Trip

My amazing hubby worked hard last year and made President's Club at work! What does this mean you ask? It means his company sent us to Maui for free!!! I still can't believe how lucky we are and how blessed I am to have such a great man. We spent 6 days soaking up the sun {a little too much}, partying with his coworkers, and spending some much needed time to ourselves. This is the first trip we have been on alone since Asher was born and as much as we missed him, we LOVED it too! Here are some snap shots of our time in paradise.

Ps-the day we went to Hawaii was Jd's birthday so it was a huge party the first day!!!

Jd got laid!

The lighting was INSANE shining through the clouds

There is a tradition on the island where every day at sunset a man cliff jumps off of black rock cliff which was right in front of our resort!!!

While Asher Naps

Do you ever wonder what hairdressers do while the kiddos nap? We color our own hair! It can either be very scary, or very exciting. I only do my in between touch-ups on myself. Note to my readers: Don't try this at home yourself! It's always best to see a professional {which I am} especially when using bleach.

Scary?

Or Exciting?

Yay I'm blonde!

Ps-yes I am totally insane about my roots during summer, most people's hair doesn't grow as fast as mine

TQLA

I love going to happy hour with my girlies to get my gossip and style talk in. This time we hit up TQLA which is a southwestern kitchen {think Z'Tejas} with an agave bar. Yes you read right......an AGAVE BAR! If you love margaritas this is definitely a place you need to try asap. We were so deep in talking about all things fabulous that none of us even remembered to take a pic. Here is my girls date outfit my amazing hubby took pictures of. Happy Sunday Funday Dolls!!!

Lasting Color

Does your hair seem to lose it's color fast? Here in AZ we need touch ups way faster then other states because the #1 reason for hair color fading is HEAT! Nooooooo what's a girl to do? Well we can't do much about our rising temperatures outside but you can take other steps to save your locks. Make sure you use a heat protectant every time before you blow dry, straighten, or curl your hair. Hair products are there for a reason......use them. Another way to beat the heat is to let your hair air dry as much as possible. Now there's no way I could possibly let my hair totally air dry but what I do is wash my hair and keep it in a towel until I put lotion on and get dressed. Then I brush it out, apply my hair products, and start my makeup. I do everything I need to get ready and then once I am completely done except my hair, I blow dry it the rest of the way so I use less heat then if I started right after washing it. Hope this helps the ladies out there with colored tresses!!! Ps, if you use bleach on your hair to lighten it then heat won't cause fading but using less heat will still help prevent damaging.

Dumb Blonde?

If you have gorgeously sun-kissed blonde hair then don't be a dummy, take care of your strands with these products that are perfect for you!

#1- Shimmer Lights Shampoo
This will help keep your blonde from getting brassy in between hair appointments. Use it once a week

#2- Moroccan Oil
Blonde tend to get dry because of the lightener stylists use on our hair. This oil will help add moisture and tame down fly aways. Use from the middle of your hair strand down through the ends, if you put it at the roots it can make your hair look greasy

#3- It's a 10
I have mentioned this product before but I am seriously obsessed! It's a leave in conditioner that you use when hair is wet before or after you brush it out. Bonus.....if you wet your hair with tap water and spray this throughout before you get in the pool it will help keep your hair healthy and not turn green!!!

The New Ombre

I seriously love the look of ombre and totally consider doing it on myself every other day. I'm always looking for the new up and coming styles/trends and love this "smudge" technique! It's more natural looking the ombre and typically doesn't go as far down the hair strand {mostly just the roots are a little darker}. The colors are also closer together so it's not so noticeable that it's actually been colored that way. Plus, the front is lighter to keep it bright around the face. It's great for people who like the highlight look up top but don't want regrowth quite as noticeable. What are your thoughts? Do you love it more then ombre or do you think if it ain't broke don't fix it?
