Prego with an Eggo

So pretty much every person I know is pregnant! It's insane, tons of friends, coworkers, acquaintances, and everything in between. What's in the water? Whatever it is has made my decision to drink only soda easy! {just kidding I am actually trying to give it up again} Since Asher is now one, people have started asking me when I am having another one. Come on people can I just focus on getting my old body back? Why is there this need to pop out 12 kids before the time I am 30? This girl doesn't care about how far apart my kids are, what my dream for my family used to be, or what others think I should do. All I know is my time with Asher right now is perfect and I don't want to mess it up.....plus, those little buggers are expensive and momma likes to shop! Haha

Anyhoo, back on track. With so many friends being knocked up it got me thinking back to my pregnancy style. At the beginning I was lucky if I had clothes on that weren't covered in puke! {my morning sickness was on another level} Then once I started feeling better I literally LIVED in leggings. Let me clarify, BLACK leggings. Thank goodness most of my pregnancy was during the fall and winter so I was able to bust out my insane collection of blazers as well. 6 out of the 7 days of each week I could be found in my black leggings, white top, black blazer, and gold accessories with black boots. I guess my mind was focused on the whole black is slimming motto. I think if I ever do decide to have another little blessing, I will do things a little differently. I want fun, flowy, comfy clothes that scream femininity! Here are some gems I found that are going to make all you pregos out there pee your pants in delight!!!

She is always glowing when prego

Top knot, pencil skirt in stripes, and rain boots.......freaking adorbs

Literally DYING over this dress Natalie Portman wore!!!

City chic

So girlie

This is almost identical to what I wore everyday

Ok we all know I LOVE blazers so get over it

Can I just be her next time?

Super bright, fun, and comfy!

Styling Tools

I have tons of people asking me all the time about different styling products and tools that I love the most. Check out my post HERE about the products. Today I want to share with you some well kept secrets about tools used to make you look fabulous! Plus there are a few new products I threw in to keep you on your toes!!! Happy Wednesday dolls and I hope you all had a A-MAZ-ING Valentine's Day

I just saw this little gem tried out at the salon and instantly fell in love! You can get that fun spunky color in the ends of your hair that is really popular right without having to worry about the long term effects. It comes in 3 or 4 different colors and they rinse right out when you wash your hair! Isn't that cool?

This is Lauren Conrad's hair when she permanently dyed her hair these bright colors....a little too crazy for my everyday life. I can just use Color Bug instead!
I could never live without my boar bristle round brush! Seriously, I would die!!! I use this brush for most of my styling at home and I use one on every single client at the salon. My fav time to use this brush is when I wear my hair in bun. Everyone always wants to know how I get my hair so smooth and this is my secret. I also love it when I want tons of volume while wearing my hair down. {But let's get real, that one almost never happens because I don't have the time to round brush all of my crazy amount of hair......it would take like 12 days if I had my little man with me!}
This is what I use for all my teasing needs.....a metal rat tail comb. I don't know why I'm so obsessed with the ones that have the metal ends but I just am. This is the exact one I have at home and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!
These beauties are the world's best kept secret! It still amazes me when I find people who haven't heard about them. {Women with gray hair I should say} If any of you have tried dry shampoo, these are almost exactly the same except for one amazing upgrade.....they cover gray roots! Yes you heard me right, no more gray in between hair color touch ups to worry about! You pick the color that matches your hair the best, spray it on your roots once you are all done styling you hair in the morning, and it washes out the next time you wash your hair. I know many women who have told me this product has completely changed their lives! {well DUH!}

Some tips on finding your perfect brush!!!

This attachment is called a concentrator and goes on the end of your blow dryer. I use it on every client and EVERY SINGLE time I round brush. It concentrates the hair into one straight stream so you don't get fly always! {do you see where it gets its name?} I can always tell if someone has blow dried their hair using just a basic blow dryer without one and when they did use one...... I call them out and they think I am some kind of magician!

Grammy's Dinner Date

We had a super fun dinner party tonight at our friends Sharlee and Ryan's house. We cooked some food, watched the Grammy's, and played with our two baby boys! {Ryan and Shar have a little boy named Drake who is totally delish and adorable} We ate a ton, listened to awesome music, and had fun party time with the two boys! They know how to get a crowd going.

Here are the two things we brought as our dishes for the night. #1 we bought the steak teriyaki kabobs from AJ's that are TO DIE FOR! I always love them. And a super yummy avocado cheese dip courtesy of Giada De Laurentiis....LOVE me some Everyday Italian!!! This dip was super easy and amazing, try it out for you next party!

Avocado Goat Cheese Dip with Whole-Wheat Pita Chips

Ingredients

  • 1 package whole-wheat pita chips (cut into 6 triangles each)
  • 3 ripe avocados, peeled pitted and cut into chunks
  • cloves minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, plus more, if needed
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 4 ounces goat cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Spread pita triangles on a sheet tray. Bake in the oven until crisp and slightly toasted. Chips will need to be rotated twice while baking.
In a bowl combine avocadosgarlic, cumin and salt. Use an electric hand mixer to mix ingredients together. Add lime juice, cream cheese and goat cheese pulsing until smooth and blended well. Add a bit more salt, if necessary.

PS. I didn't do the home made pita chips,,,,who do you think I am? Martha freaking Stewart? UM NO! Store bought tortillas chips worked fabulously!

V-Day Prep

So with Valentines Day approaching fast, I of course started thinking about my outfit. I mean what else would be more important for me to think about then that? I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors red and pink so Im pretty sure that I will be wearing one of those colors. With that being said, I probably won't be decked out from head to toe in red, maybe just a pop of color here and there unless I find a fantabulous colored dress or something.

For V-day my husband and I switch off each year on who plans it so that we each get to be surprised every once in awhile. Last year was my turn and I think I did a pretty awesome job, JD was super duper surprised. This year is his turn and since I don't know what we are doing it will be a little hard to plan what my outfit should be. This is why I have to be prepared for everything that I might end up doing and show JD his choices and ask him which one I should wear so that I can still be surprised! I love getting surprises {which barely ever happens in this girls life, JD are you reading this?} so there's no way I would spoil it. Here are some options I am thinking about, which are your favs? Thanks for the help dolls!!!

Love me a red skinny with a polka dot top!

Die for how much I love her and this outfit

This would be my casual look

Super cute and girlie!

Totally sexy and is what I am hoping to dress like

Like I said, I LOVE polka dots

Why not pair pink and red together? Best idea EVER!!!

The Park is Our Second Home

Asher is so obsessed with the park it's ridiculous! He wants to go every single day and we can't even walk into the garage without him pointing to his truck and wanting to go for a walk. Now we do almost all our play dates in the park as well since I know that's where he will be the happiest! Here is one of our latest adventures through our neighborhood park except this time Asher has new shoes to have even MORE fun with!

Trying to get daddy's hat!

Date Night

So I have decided that I want to start trying something new for date night. I watched a fabulous episode of Criminal Minds where the whole team cooks a pasta dish together while drinking red wine and listening to Frank Sinatra. After that I couldn't think of a more perfect night! I now once a week I want to, take my little man to grandmas house, open a bottle of red, and try out a new delish recipe with the hubs. They say cooking together is one of the most romantic things you can do together so why not? Food, drinks, and Frank sounds freaking fantastic to me and is a MUST on my to do list! Now the only question left is what recipe should we try out first? I will let all of you decide for us. Here are your choices and remember.....it needs to go good with red wine! Yum Yum :)

These are the healthy ones that are allowed on my diet!

Pineapple Chicken Salad Pitas

Pesto Pasta with Edemame and Almonds

Sassy Won Ton Tacos

These are not on my diet but I MIGHT be able to cheat since it's my date night

Chicken with Coconut Lime Peanut Sauce

Chicken Chimis

Which one sounds the yummiest to you all?

A Picnic in the Park

This is a little late but two Fridays ago was a fabulous day for the park! The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the babes were ready to play! We headed over to Discovery Park and jumped right into the fun! There was Asher, Lucy, Hannah, and Emma plus all four mommies. We brought our lunches and sat on blankets talking and playing with toys. The kids had so much fun together and then we walked down to the lake and strolled around checking out all the duckies. Asher absolutely LOVED the ducks since we have a stuffed one at home and are learning that they say "QUACK QUACK" right now! Here are some snap shots of our super exciting day.....followed by a very long nap for my worn out snuggle bug!

Asher is obsessed with Lucy's tunnel and she bought one for Asher!

Lucy saying, "excuse me Asher I need to get by"

Then she decided to take matters into her own hands

Im pretty sure that's not what the lid for his bottle is for

Chomping on a whiffle ball

My angel boy! Thank goodness Karen had sunscreen for the babes because I forgot ours and it was bright and sunny. So sunny that my shoulders got sunburned! Yay that's January in Arizona!!!
