One girls Maroon is another girls Oxblood

Hello friends and fans of Marci and Waking Up To This! ,My name is Ashley and I blog over at Oh Wells Instead Of What Ifs, a life "stylish" blog all about living life with no regrets.

I am always so thrilled when someone asks me to guest post, especially if that someone is a real life friend! Marci and I go way back to Jr. High and early high school when we danced together, and yes she has always had a knack for personal style.  Unlike me.

Yeah, don't be jealous of my ninja turtle shirt and jeans tuxedo, or my frizzy hair straightened by a curling iron, but only the parts I could see or my muted Hawaiian print shift dress.  I went ahead and left out the teal tiger leopard print pants and the Tommy Hilfiger overalls that I rocked almost every day of high school.
I have never considered myself a fashion blogger, mostly because while I do think my fashion sense has evolved over the years, I am no Carrie Bradshaw.  My most fashionable moments have always been directly tied to dresses I couldn't really afford to buy, but did for the sake of style and a fabulous hair day.
And I'd like to thank Nieman Marcus, Nordstrom, Ralph Lauren, Anthropologie and BCBG Collection for supplying me with these fabulous (but way out of my budget) looks.  And I'd also like to thank my credit cards for making this all possible.
These days I try to stick to simple classics, but one recent trend, has really caught my eye.  Maroon I mean Oxblood is the "it" color of the moment and I couldn't be happier.  For a gal with my coloring, oxblood is the answer to my hot pink nightmares.  Here are just a few of my oxblood favorites.

Skinny's, a feminine work dress, a leather jacket (similar here), platform heels (similar here), luscious lips, wrist bling, nails (blood curdling by Essie) and a girly coat.

Don't worry my new friends, I would never leave you lusting over all this beautiful deep red without helping you get some of your own!  Enter the drawing below for your chance to win a $15 Sephora gift card!  At least it will get your nails or your lips in on the Oxblood action!
